Scaling? (1 Viewer)

I am in year 12 and i am ranked 1st in my subjects internally. My school is ranked poorly overall, will this affect scaling and atar? I thought it was whoever is 1st will simply get the highest mark in the hsc for internal assessment mark?

when you're first, yeah
i'm pretty sure the idea is that if you're first, you won't be messed up by other students (who might perform poorly i.e low ranking school)
