Coverage in the news suggests their actions may have gone beyond just getting together and posing for a photo...

The story identified the park, which is on Sydney's Lower North Shore, and states that the masked group had a confrontation with police on Friday.

Because Australia is an open and free society people are allowed to express unpopular / controversial views. So long as that doesn't extend to conduct that is threatening or causes harm to others, individuals are free to believe and espouse views with which others disagree. This view may be as sensible / reasonable as the Earth is flat, the Moon landings were faked, and HSC Maths shouldn't be a compulsory subject, but neither ignorance nor stupidity is a crime.

ik but there have been several gatherings at the north shore with people wearing the same clothing lately (artarmon, north sydney, turramurra) so it’s likely the people are from the area

regardless my comment is just a joke

It's not built on "multiculturalism". It's built on English culture from English immigrants and their descendants.

"Immigrants" are not a coherent group. An anglo Birton and a dinka south sudanese in Australia are both "immigrants" - but their angloness and dinkaness respectively are vastly more salient facts about them than them both being "immigrants" is, as far as the impact they are likely to have on the country.

Do you imagine that everyone but white people are living exclusively in their original, ancient homeland? You cry about Israel, but the implication is that arabs are native to the area when its obviously not true.

Oh, and when jews started immigrating to palestine before the modern israeli state was created, the arabs furiously opposed this, often violently. Well, if opposing immigrants is such a terrible thing, perhaps the palestinians are paying the price for being xenophobic bigots?

white australians who want australia to be white basically want the white australia policy to be reinstated, and for australia to be an anglo-saxon country when in reality this has never been a white country until colonial times.

we cant go back on the colonisation of australia and obviously the damage has been done there, however its really silly to want to destroy how we have managed to create a pretty peaceful multicultural country

What's this "we" crap? White Australians made it the country it is, which attracted other peoples.

And whenever those other people's weren't the product of highly selective immigration, they were very much not peaceful - see Lebanese, Vietnamese, Sudanese (and other africans) etc.

And if multiculturalism is so wonderful, why are you condemning colonisation? Australian wouldn't be multicultural without it.

because they're extreme political dissidents, and every elite institution in Australia is falling over itself to destroy the lives of people like this, which is true regardless of how much you think they deserve it
