The actual exam contributes 50% to your final HSC scaled mark.
The school mark contributes 50% to your final HSC scaled mark.
Your final HSC scaled mark is used to calculate your ATAR.
Then I can infer that your exam mark was equal to or less than 89.
Basically, you leeched off the best guy in your class, who got 89.
It may be yourself. But I know from this that no one in your cohort got above 89 D:
What you get in the school assessments DOESNT MATTER
only your SCHOOL...
Exam mark = your mark in the exam
School mark = the mark the (your school rank)ed person in your cohort got in the exam. eg I came second in school assessments, therefore I would receive the second highest HSC mark in my cohort as my assessment mark
HSC mark = average of the two
the HSC mark...
This isn't entirely off topic, but...
Given that we can check for first in a subject, say 2u Maths.
Since theres only 3 people tied first on (no doubt 100)
Would it be correct to assume that I would be 4th in the state if I got 99?
The assessment mark isn't based off your school mark, its based off your school rank
Basically you receive the X ranked HSC mark in your cohort as your assessment mark, where X is your school rank.
Otherwise derp schools can just set easy tests and everyone would get 100
