    Doing physiotherapy in university

Same. I know a person who struggled to get a job and is now stuck visiting old people's homes and doing 'exercise' with them. It's hard to find hospital and private practice jobs. Since when is physio a 5 yr degree and why would they be paid more??

    $250 Student Fee introduced

I think Centrelink places a limit on the amount of undergraduate degrees you can do. It's only two I think. So professional students wouldn't be getting any money from the gov.

why does so many people choose physiotherapy?

It's because all the sporty people want to do it so they can be a physio for sports teams, but in reality they end up stuck working in hospitals with old people. I was interested in physio, but the majority of work in hospitals involves helping to lift people and get them walking and getting...

    USYD Pharmacy

Do you really want to do pharmacy? Sorry not to put you off or anything, but the employment situation is very bad and only going to get worse. What about other health degrees like physio, ot, speech pathology etc? What's wrong with nursing if you don't mind me asking?

    Radiology

I think he was talking about radiography/radiographer not medicine/doctor/radiologist. No way would you make that amount of money as a radiographer.

    Best health course?

Yeah nursing is good for all the different areas you can go into, but I worry about the bad parts like night shifts, showering people, wiping bums, cleaning up god knows what. Does anyone have anyone experience with nursing? With radiography I'm still paranoid about radiation exposure even...

2nd degree and running out of hecs and 7 years SLE

I understand that you can only get 7 years of SLE for hecs/csp. But what happens if you commence a second degree and in your last year you run out of SLE. Does the uni let you finish the course or can you just pay full fee for the last year? I've heard the labor gov has abolished full fee so...

Exceeding credit point limit in degree (taking extra units)

I think I have it sorted with my uni. I'm able to enrol in 1 extra unit (it does say this somewhere in the rules) only. For the 2nd extra unit I wanted to do, they've substituted a unit that I thought I needed to do with one I've already done. Something to do with the fact that I already...

Exceeding credit point limit in degree (taking extra units)

I need to study an extra 2 units in order to complete an extra major in my degree, however it means that I've exceeded the maximum credit point limit. Has anybody been able to study extra credit points/units in the degree? Is it allowed?

So how much does a Doctor really earn?

Hahaha have you even had any experience in a hospital? You didn't even know that nurses specialise into areas like icu. Yes it is part of the job description of being a doctor but it brings med students back to reality that med isn't as glamorous after all. Who really wants meconium dropping...

So how much does a Doctor really earn?

I wonder if these people entering medicine purely for money/prestige realise how ewwww the profession can be. Smelling people's urine for diagnosis of infections, sticking your fingers up random places, patients/family members who abuse you. You can't even wear nice clothes to work because you...

So how much does a Doctor really earn?

Why do people always end up choosing law if they didn't make it into medicine (this is based on a few people at my school). The genuine ones who were interested in the medical field and hospitals etc ended up choosing an allied health course.
