I never really looked at double degrees, it certainly looks like a good option for the type of career. Have a look at the bonus points, it can drop to 80 ATAR with 5 bonus points quite easily. There offering 4 points for getting Band 5/6's and 2 points for Band 4's in quite a few subjects...
