I found this exam much harder than previous years. Mainly coz of time management. I was expecting to have at least half an hour left but only had like 15 minutes:spzz: ahhh then realised i havent done two of the 4 markers! There goes my time to check over the paper.

I dont think you literally had to spell out that relationships helped celebrate a sense of belonging but someone incorporate the importance that relationships bring to ones sense of belonging/ or even perhaps not belonging..
I did quote 1, and I literally put the quote within my story.
"Human beings, like plants, grow in the soil of acceptance, not in the atmosphere of rejection"
It was about someone who found their sense of belonging through the virtual world and where consumed by the relationships she had...
Don't memorise your essay! When your focusing word for word your not actually really thinking about the "ideas" your writing about and you wont be able to shape it to the question. And shaping it to the question is so important!

Yer, 800 words is good, but obviously it really all depends on how adaptable your story is. Try fitting it to past HSC questions to see how it fits.
You must be able to fit it to the question! That will get you the most marks. Plus if its really creative and has good language techniques...
