I also got 95... It was kinda unexpected since pretty much the only study for it was the day before and the day of the exam (I still had chemistry the day after and biology the monday before it )

I did the revise in a month thingy in a day and read the excel book and did some exercises. Seems to have worked...

That there is your problem.
i really don't think the exam suited those who did lots of study, as most of it seemed to be general sort of flowery whoever can write the most elegant computer sounding crap. i would've prefered if it had favoured those who memorized the syllabus and textbook more, but thats probably just me. our class totally picked the definitions for TPS though, was very satisfying seeing transaction (i think) come up after we had predicted it.

yea, i was really unimpressed with the test paper because people that actually knew things couldn't be separated from people that didn't, since half the test was just rambling and making it up as you go.

:(

yep pretty much same here. So with my limited understanding of how scaling works am i to believe that because the people who had little knowledge could do ok in the paper, IPT marks will be scaled poorly this year?

before i got my result i was really depressed cause i hated the paper, and figured i'd do terribly as usually i am terrible at rambling stuff, so i was thrilled with my 94.

in any sense i am told this is a trend in the HSC, moving away from rope learning to more "creative" tests, which is really frustrating for someone like me.

the problem was that even though rote learning didn't help for this test, actual knowledge didn't either. so those that learnt everything had little advantage over those that learnt nothing. bad balance.

i'm worried about the scaling as well. I feel as though it'll be bad this year with the easy exam.

Hey, Daniel Rose from Gosford High came top in the year. Is it just me or for the past few years first in the course in IPT has gone to Gosford. I know Gosford Hill specialises in IT - anything to do with that?
