Wondering, has anyone got under 90 in eng adv and still pulled out a maximum ?

wonder what eng adv marks the ruse geniuses get ?

i know 1 ruse guy who just graduated and state ranked phys, 3u and 4u and got a 99.85 even with an 89 in eng. so based off that, 91 would likely be the min

Surprisingly, they're not number 1 in English (There's a girls' private school that ranks 1st, and I know Baulko usually ranks higher than Ruse in terms of English). But I have a mate who got 90 for English Advanced, not from Ruse but ended up with a 99.95. Granted his other subjects were in the high 90s, though.

The minimum aggregate for 99.95 usually sits at just under 480. Assuming you achieved perfect 50/50 scaled marks in every other subjects (basically means you need to state rank a bunch of high scaling subjects), this means that you need to get 80 scaled marks from English (or 40 per unit). According to the 2020 scaling report, this is an English hsc mark of around 44 per unit, which means that you would need a hsc English mark of 88 — obviously this is purely hypothetical and unrealistic, and in the real world you’d need to perform better than that to account for imperfect performance in other subjects.

that's was last year. This year reddam house ranks first, followed by nsb, jr
