You probably only get one mark taken off for the wrong answe...? I assume you got most of the working right.

dont u jus hate silli ass mistakes? :chainsaw: ..i rekkon if there was a way of testin someones ability without sillimistakes i would do tonnes betta ><...so how many ppl do u think will get 84 in this one?..it was quite hard compared to nethin ive done..but 2 ppl in mah school have "claimed" 84 :rolleyes: and quite few 80+...but it mite jus be a lil bs coz the silli mistake factor hasnt been counted....how did tha top range in otha skools go?

Quite a few have claimed 80+... I know of one who says 84 is possible... don't talk to ppl who care...

On the other hadns, I'm pretty sure the answr's 1/3pi... my dh/dV turned out to be 1/9pi... multiplied by 3...

Waitara.... Station below hornsby and above Chastw
my friend came out of the exam and asked me if it was 1/pi and i didn't look too hard and went yeah and so for a sec there i thought i had that question all wrong... almost had a heart attack
anyway forget about that question
what's everyone's answer's for the last questions
the one u integrate twice
i got 0 for that one
but the questions states to write the answer in terms of n so i spent over half an hr trying to figure out why it's 0
but 0 is still my final answer
can anyone confirm that for me??

I got 3/8pi

When you use V=1/3pir2h doesn't the h in that equation equal the height of the cone ????

because if you don't sub it in then, then your using h as the same value as 9 which is wrong ???

i thought that was right,

no one else seems to though,

Integrate. put + C on one side.
Sub x = 0 and work out C
C= -1/(n+1), assuming C's on the (1+x) side.
Integrate again, another C.
sub x=0 again, and C becomes -1/(n+1)(n+2)

Then sub x=-1 for final.
LHS = 1/(n+1) - 1/(n+1)(n+2)
= 1/(n+2)

For that question....I integrated and thats about as far as I got, due to time constraints (im very slow at 3u....)
and that rates question, I'm smiling knowing i got 1/3pi as well

im estimating to just pass as a raw mark...ie, 42-50 out of 84...but we'll jus never know our exam marks, coz the exam marks we get back from the board of studies are all scaled and aligned...so if u guys manage at least 80% raw, ur set for close to 50/50 aligned exam mark

I doubt very much that 80% raw will be aligned to 50/50. I was an accelerated for 3 unit maths student last year and i reckon i got about 75/84 which is around 90%, and my aligned mark for the HSC exam was 49... but my internal assessment was 47 so i got 48 and I redid it this year and I reckon i got 80s out of 84 which will be 100 (4 u) if that's what i got.
