the question asked to USE THE PARTS ABOVE... the only values u have is 2 from the first part and 8 for the total area.. therefore 8-2=6... there is no way u can get -2 from the previous answers...

Doesn't matter. Using parts above means that the questions above are your clues - the area for each hump is 2 but if it is below the x-axis it must be counted as -2. The question asked for the INTEGRAL NOT AREA. The AREA is 8 but it did NOT ask for this - the INTEGRAL is -2.
