The markers aren't evil monsters who get a kick out of putting crosses everywhere. They give you marks where they can. And obviously if you're way off the answer, you're not giving them that opportunity.

I think they like to see you know what you're talking about, even if you say a few things incorrectly or don't answer the question fully, and you'll definately find positive marking in the 2-4 mark questions.

1 marks no though, its either right or wrong.

anything greater than 4 marks they want details, and if it's not giving they won't mark it right.

Yeah at the end of the term, our teachers told us to remember that the markers are actually looking for what you do know, rather than what you don't. So they will try to give out marks where ever possible.
