http://www.gamespot.com/news/6141751.htmlPerrin Kaplan, Nintendo of America's vice president for marketing and corporate communications, told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer that more than 3 million DSs were sold in the US in 2005, on top of the 1.2 million sold in just over a month in 2004.
So the DS was outsold, cos it ran out of stock, rofl. The day that DS fanboys have dreaded is finally here. The PSP has trumped Nintendo's dual-screen portable in total units sold over the past week in Japan (Jan 2 - 8). This marks the first time since April of '05 that the PSP has outsold the DS. However, Nintendo reported that the DS sold out in Japan on the 5th, thereby halting its sales during the rest of the reported cycle.
Here's how it all went down:
1. PSP - 132,757
2. NDS - 91,379
3. PS2 - 80,886
4. GBASP - 17,443
5. NGC - 13,423
6. GBM - 11,818
7. XBX360 - 7,477
8. GBA - 564
9. XBX - 156
Whichever way you look at it, the PSP did increase in total sales over its previous figure of 110k units. Fanboys, take ammunition where you can.
You get the idea, yeah gimmick...one hell of a gimmick i'd sayJan 02 - Jan 08:
1. More DS Brain Training (Nintendo, NDS)
2. Animal Crossing : Wild World (Nintendo, NDS)
3. Mario Kart DS (Nintendo, NDS)
4. Adult Brain Training (Nintendo, NDS)
5. Mario & Luigi : Partners in Time (Nintendo, NDS)
6. Kingdom Hearts II (Square Enix, PS2)
7. Brain Training DS (Nintendo, NDS)
8. Tamagotchi Connection : Corner Shop (Bandai, NDS)
9. Pok?n Mysterious Dungeon Blue (Nintendo, NDS)
10. Pok?n Mysterious Dungeon Red (Nintendo, GBA)
Again, your logic makes no sense? But whatever, you can keep your overpriced PSPpolitik said:Yeah, because i'm selling them in Japan or America aren't I. *yawn*
Wow, you got the point! Albeit in a round-about way...politik said:Uh, you gave sales for both Japan and America. And I said I was looking forward to having overstocked shelves of an item that doesn't sell well. And since this is Australia, stats for sales overseas don't really work do they? Considering my store is based here?
And for the record, the PSP is an even worse selling product.
The DS has outsold every console virtually everywhere...what more proof you want its 'up on par' with the others?politik said:I still think handheld gaming isn't up to par, beit Nintendo or Sony.
yeah new super mario..Orange Juice said:i dont know... the mario that just came out where you can get the mega mushroom.
