hmmm, i don't agree, i think it's a because it will stay fairly constant and then go down, i don't think it would be as sharp as d
Hey iambored.....filtering will do something....its muddy river water bro and were determining dissolved solids

in the third test tube, X does not replace the Z ions
therefore Z>X>Y
which is D

Hahahaha

Yall are fuckin wierd...
Just think about these and stop asking why.

5 is D
Ask your techer or something if you think its anything else, coz ure wrong.

13 is D
This one is tricky, but think about it

14 is A
The answer comes from the idiot student's FIRST step

15 is A, not D
pH changes SLIGHTLY, but it will not just stay the same for such a long time

Q13 was the last question i did in the paper cause I thought it was pretty confusing. :p It was a toss up between (a) and (d) and I guessed (a). :( The third diagram put me off when it said no reaction. I guess I forgot all that displacement stuff :(

Q5?
how the heck do you get option D (Q and S)?

S is filtration, if something is dissolved, it'll go straight thru your filter...

Frigid, you need to remove the suspended particles before you evaportae.

The procedure had two flaws, how do you figure that the concentration will be correct?

5D cos i cant be any others..
and its definately Q and S can filter small trace amounts

and with 13.. shit.. i think i read it wrong.. greatest activity huh.. i put in B but i think its D

i know what u mean frigid... i got misled by the wording too, i thought it asked for 2 different method to test TDS, so i just thought wtf and guessed A lol.... didnt even think about the whole procedure.. hahahahaha ...bah shit happens

OMG....people people......% cannot be A because "P" is used for titration, it CANNOT determine the total dissolved solid ANYWAY!

Why do I make such stupid mistakes:mad:?

1. B
2. D
3. B
4. D (I had B and then I changed it!)
5. D
6. A (How do you do this question?)
7. A (I had C which most people seem to think is correct!)
8. B
9. A
10. D (I had no idea but I feel so stupid now.)
11. B
12. B (Stupid again, what was I thinking?)
13. B
14. C
15. C (Don't ask!)

So that should get me only about 9/15, when I should have got 14/15 (I think):(.

Here is what i think are the right answers
1.(B)
2.(D)
3.(B)
4.(B)
5.(D)...filter suspended soilids, then evaporate.
6.(C)
7.(C) basic metal oxides react with acids to make salts etc..only U or V would be amphoteric
8.(A) as mentioned before, double concent, then -log(H+)
9.(A) i put C in the test and forgot the whole alphabetical stuff
10.(A)... it says based on these data ALONE
11.(B)
12.(D) it seems its right, but can someone tell me how you actually do it!?
13.(D) 1. X>Y 2. Z>Y 3. X<Z therefore, Z>X>Y
14. (dont know, pretty hard)
15. (dont know, i was told its C because after initial shock, buffer maintains constant pH)

15. A
