My trials start pretty soon, so I'm getting a bit concerned about my marks now and am very worried about the trials.
generally around 160/210 kids get a 90+ atar at my school. Here are my current ranks and the range of b6's my school has got in those subjects in recent years as well as a the usual cohort number(pulled off hsc ninja)

SubjectMy current rank in cohortUsual number of band 6's rangeLast years numbers
English Advanced162/196 (rip)40-80/210~48
Maths Advanced40/80100-120/160~109
Maths Extension 1158/165 (bigger rip)105-135/168~105
Chemistry70-80~/12450-75/120~53
Economics30/6010-25/70~15
Legal Studies23/27 (no comment)7-10/20-30~10
Bit unsure about my chemistry rank, as it was abysmal before last task, but got a very good score relative to the majority of the cohort. I did the math using the weightings of the task and I'm now only about 1.7% behind the overall median mark of about 32.2%/60% weighting thats been completed so far (using both median marks from the last two tasks) and and rank 90 is at 28.2%/60%(one of my friends marks) yes I know that that median mark looks abysmal, cause it is.

Also the cohort size for math advanced is 160 because my school teaches the full maths advanced course to all extension students in year 11, and the top 80 or so accelerate and do the trials where they're ranked against us year 12s based off their trial mark only and then do the hsc to boost the number of band 6's my school gets for reference generally just about every accelerant gets a b6, usually <5 don't.

I go to a pretty good school for context so that's why the band 6 numbers are so high but yeah either way it's not looking parrticularly good for me.

Obviously with still trials to go I still have room to move, and can do well in the externals to get that 90+ but I'm not feeling particularly confident that I'm going to be able to move my ranks up that much and perform well.

I'm js curious about where im sitting around now.

oh and the reason why the english cohort is smaller this year is because there is now a standard class unlike previous years.
