u need to do the umat unless ur doing graduate entry. then GAMSAT which is even harder. might as well put in the effort now.
higher atar means you can get away with a lower umat score

Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
USYD = 99.95 + interview for combined medicine. Other than that, postgraduate entry.
UNSW = high ATAR + good UMAT + interview for medicine.
Griffith = ~99.70 ATAR (no UMAT, no interview) for medicine (must do medical science first and get above a certain GPA and you'll secure yourself a position in medicine).

So here's what I know about Undergrad medicine entry

NSW:

USYD: 99.95 + Interview (no UMAT)

UNSW: High Atar & UMAT (atleast 98+ and >90%)

UWS: >93.55 if GWS, >95.55 is non-GWS plus high UMAT (90%) and MMI (Interview)

UNCLE: >96/97 ATAR, UMAT of 85%+ and MMI (Interview)

VIC:

Monash: 97/98+ ATAR, high UMAT (93%+) and Interview (UMAT cut off varies from year to year)

QLD:

UQ: 99+ ATAR and UMAT getting 50+ in all three sections (which means a UMAT of say 53% would get you in) & no interview.

Griffith: 99.70, no UMAT

JCU (my personal favourite): 95+ ATAR, no umat, written application and Interview.

I researched the shit out of this last year. Don't know much about the other states though.

You've almost removed all options and hope of getting in if you want to avoid UMAT and Interview. But there is still a minute chance ;)

^ Do you mean to say you only need a atar of above 93.55 to get into uws medicine?

That's true if you live in the greater western suburbs. UWS gives special consideration to those from western suburbs. They have a postcode list on the website where you can check to see if you're eligible. For others the cutoff remains at 95.55.

1) JCU does not require UMAT
2) If you're really rich, then fork out a shitload of money for Bond University
3) High GPA + high GAMSAT + interview for postgraduate medicine and dentistry
4) CSU offers dentistry which doesn't require UMAT
5) If you got 99.95 ATAR (which I greatly doubt you will, but forgive me if you do), and pass the interview at Sydney Uni AND get a minimum credit average for your 1st combined degree
