for the exams, should I have one specific thesis or opening paragraph prepared and then have different notes on the ideas that I choose when I get the question??
cause I'm getting really confused with how they all need to be set out.

hmm im not sure but my teacher is a HSc marker and we had to start by describing both texts and how they coincide, for example frankenstein and bladerunner both reflect dehumanisation and the deterioration of nature, than by this statement we went into similar concepts of what it means to be a human, etc followed by qoutes.

When you write your opening paragraph you need to basically use the question, just reword it, and then introduce the ideas you're going to talk about. Maybe memorise some key phrases with big words that make it sound nice, but if you memorise something like that, and the question is a bit out the ordinary, you're fucked.

Have a few ideas ready, but make sure they're flexible, and can be manipulated to various types of questions or text types...
