Alright, this could be a really dumb question... but, I guess I'll only find that out by asking it... so...

Let's just say I'm doing a double degree in Applied Finance and Accounting.

Now let's say, after I finish this double degree, I want to return to university part-time and do a B. of Economics.

Can we then say that I will get credit for my previous studies, and hence, only have to do, say, two years part-time study to gain the economics degree?

At the moment, I'm guessing I probably can't do this, otherwise people could just accumulate degree after degree, but I'm desperately praying that one of you will prove me wrong.

If I can't, I might consider switching to the B.AppFin + B.Ec double degree, but damn! I just put in my transfer to the B.AppFin + B.Com-Accg double degree! *Punches self in face violently!*

Accounting is pretty boring, but I may as well give one more semester a go I suppose.

Oh, by the way, jlh, if you read this, what are your reasons for doing B.App.Fin + B.Ec?

I believe you would get some level of credit for previous studies -- you'd get.. err.. 24cp at 200 level, and 12cp at 100 level, which, with academic approval, could then be used to cut your BEc course shorter.

That's the way I remember it: for official word, you'll have to talk to the people in the registrar's department...

(You could also always eventually do a postgrad ec degree, which might be more worthwhile)
