For part A of the Arab - Israeli question, there was heaps to talk about.
The main objective by the USSR was to increase its influence in the region, and thus increase the concept of communism.
However, for the USA, they sought to think that the only stable state in the region was Israel due to its democratic status. Therefore, as America became more involved, and as the wars flowed along, they sought to increase thier influence by persuing thier goal of spreading the concept of democracy.
The US also wanted to have close relations with Israel as they saw them as an important ally in blocking communism in the region, but also to keep an eye on the influence of the USSR. Also, when the USSR discovered that Israel was not going to become socialist, but rather democratic, they regretted thier role in creating the state of Israel. So it can, in a way, be said that thier objective was to destroy the state of Israel etc.....but indirectly approached by the USSR.
There's alot of other objectives.. but meh..

My teacher had this feeling they were gonnna put a question on the super powers, which is why we did a whole syllabus summary on that :)...
Hope everyone does well...
