Is here any 4unit ppl who screwd 3unit?

I am projecting around 95~100/120 in 4unit

However I totally screwed Q7 in 3unit paper.with 1 mark off from question 3

so about 75~78/84

7(a) omg -_- i can't believe that i could not do it..i finished all the exam in 1hour and spent about 30min on this STUPID Question and ended up with nothing..

Since I sat the exam at 8:00'o clock in the morning (not in australia.. that's why..)
My mind was blocked... IT'S UNFAIR! lol STUPID BOS

Is there anyone who screwed? 77/84 is gud or bad ? among 4uit students...

and i heard something dat if i do badly in 3unit, it will affects my 4unit marks..is this true?? lol! dying!

im aiming for 81 in 3u... made a stupid mistake and left out 2 marks
my 4u mark is gonna be around 85-95/120, and i think that is crap

the marks that 4u ppl get in the 3u exam usually affect how much the scaling will be for our 4u marks, so im hoping it all goes the right way :)

Is that mean? that my 3unit mark will affects just 'MY' 4 unit scaling??
or apply to all the people in 4unit?

Nah mate. It's how the WHOLE MX2 group go in three unit.

For the half of your four unit mark that comes from this week's exams, the scaling on your raw mark is determined by how the 3,500-odd people doing MX2 in 2005 go in the MX1 exam as a whole.

This is my understanding.

don't worry mate i do 4-unit and i made a mess of this exam..totally screwed projectile motion cause i used positive angles instead of negative, and totally screwed question 7.

I calculated that i got around 72-75.... very unhappy

did you all get too cocky during reading time? it's so easy to underestimate a paper so much you dont see easy things.

like i looked at the paper and throught 84/84 here i come, and then i had a brain explosion in 7 (b) but i managed to get it out with half an hour to go.

Negative angles...mate all u did was make y^. negative because it was falling, not the angles...

Um... you people... >_<
Your marks are GOOD!
Yes, I take 4U... and I *really did* screw up 3U! I was expecting 4U to be really difficult, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found I could actually answer stuff in every question except 8... :p But I found 3U really terrible. Estimated mark... 59! Hopefully if I'm very lucky I may even get 60. Wow.

So don't be upset, there are people who did much worse than you. :D

I mean, I probably won't do that well in 4U either... I really shouldn't have taken this much maths, but I can't help it... I love it! Hehe, that's so corny.

Yeah i know what your saying, but the question stated that the rocket was decending, and i took it as acending, so instead of -45 degrees, i used 45 degress etc. I just mis-read the question...very annoying

yea i was gonan say

ppl just found out u'd get a negative time so they just made it positive...
slack
should be marked down - not understanding the question. haha

the angle is PI - pi/3 etc

it just happen to be Tan (pi - pi/3) is negative

not because "its a negative angle"

?

ppl wrote 2pi - pi/3 ?
i hope that i havnt made a mistake.

Yeah you're right... i used positive vertical velocity instead of negative... dammit!! hopefully won't loose too many marks for that

when the damn thing is descending, you have a negative angle compared to the horizontal. alternatively, you could just as well take 2pi - pi/4 instead of pi/4...

it wouldnt matter... the key is you understand that it is descending and that because tan theta = y component of velocity / x component of velocity....

and on descending, y component of velocity is NEGATIVE, hence the value of tan theta is negative...then ull be fine

if u didnt take this into consideration, you would have got, possibly, a negative time
