    Second opinion on Notebook specs

Thx for the replies. I'll try shopping around for a bit more, preferably C2D, in 14.1" range, but there's not much that'll leave me still going for a few years < $2k. (Nuh, dur.)

    Second opinion on Notebook specs

Alright, not really a second opinion, but whatever.:) I'm @ uni atm, so something that can wordprocess/excel/etc, movies (during my breaks) and the occasional low-end game (during break, or during boring-ass, I-know-this-crap-already lectures :p) 1x ASUS Z62J 14.1" WXGA Geforce 7300 Notebook...

Chemistry - general thoughts on the exam

When I think about it again, it's been the same style of questioning and difficulty as the other science exams (maybe not physics?). Ambiguous questions, none of the usual "stock" style questions they ask in past papers - batteries, ethanol? biopolymer :mad1:. Really threw me off - At least I...

    Comparison of Multiple-Choice Answers

WTH was with the multiple choice section? I skipped out of the exam, "YAY! ACE!" then 5 minutes later after discussing multi choice...wtf? Core + Forensics was easy enough, but multiple choice...I hope the person who made up those questions get bombed...:mad1:
  7. Sir Loin

How did you find the difficulty?

    Easy-Moderate.

What did you and didn't do?

Didn't do probability on Q6, my brain blacked out after that gay projectile motion before it, the projectile =p, 2(c)(iii), wtf? it doesn't = 0?:mad1:, 3(d)(iii) i fudged. Induction = bah. Q7 was suprisingly easy. Differentiation + a little manipulation.
  11. Sir Loin

How did you find the difficulty?

Stupid maths, they brought my hopes up until Q6, since I didn't study then crammed the night before. Rediculously hard, other 4u ppl were crying.
  12. Sir Loin

    Comparison to previous years?

Much easier, but I wasn't prepared enough. Does this mean next years one is going to be rediculously hard?
  13. Sir Loin

    How do you guys discriminate?

Look at the question and if I can't get the basic method down of HOW to approach the question to the answer they want, skip.
  14. Sir Loin

Any topic u will stuff up :(

Induction...argh. 8(b), some of 7, circle geo, mechanics on the f'd up universe, polynomial because it took too long/wrong method, complex ellipse cuz i didn't square the RHS as well. Stupid silly mistakes, after the exam w/ everyone talking about it, I wanted to crawl into a hole and die.:mad1:

DOES THE "School Certificate affect your HSC".

Yr9+10 is supposed to prepare you for your senior studies, study practices, work ethic, etc. But 90% of ppl don't even listen.:P Now year 11 is important, as it gives you that kickstart and the assumed knowledge that u need in the HSC, though I find the whole concept of 'preliminary' flawed...

Comparison of Maths Ext 2 books

Re: what are good books Cambridge is good, but will have you ripping your hair out, guaranteed, unless you're an uber maths freak who can think in different dimensions. Terry Lee - Good explanations, decent questions - very good answer section. Cambridge - Will have hair ripping, all nighter...

  18. Sir Loin

    Quanta to Quarks people~!

The 7 marker was nice - babbled on about nuclear reactors + cadmium rods.:) Screwed the calculation one, and stumped on the heisenburg one. Like, wtf? 3 lines... The quarks one was a good finisher, made me feel all nice and tingly inside.
