From Biki

Entry of Information

Biki encourages all university students to constantly revise and update the respective university articles. And, if needed, begin their own article relating to the university they attend. However to ensure this set of articles is a reliable and clean source of information, a few rules need to be followed:

  • All information entered must be verifiable, either from the university webpage in question or a third-party source that is considered reliable. If possible, reference where information (especially statistical figures) comes from and insert its source in the "External Links" field of each article.
  • Do not enter your personal feelings toward a particular university or course. Biki holds the NPOV policy which extends over the universities subsection of the site.
  • Ensure that all images do not conflict with Biki's copyright and privacy policies. If you do not know whether an image is appropriate, contact a sysop and ask, or post a link to it within a particular discussion page asking for a second opinion. While drunken images of campus tomfoolery may be quite hilarious, they may not be appropriate for a Biki universities article.
  • If you are beginning a new Biki university article, make sure you first add the university infobox (instructions found below) to provide basic information about the university before you begin to beef the article up to standard. Uploaded images for use in an university infobox must 100px wide (no limit on height). If you begin an article and do not finish it, make sure a stub link is provided.
  • If you feel a particular part of an universities article is not truthful or unfair for whatever reason, raise it to the attention of Biki editors through each article's discussion page instead of directly editing the section in question. This is also related to the NPOV policy. This will ensure Biki universities articles are of a very high standard.

University Infobox

The university infobox template has been set up to make university pages easier and more efficient for everyone. It has been borrowed and modified from Wikipedia. The infobox template is a protected page. Modifications/revisions can be suggested through its discussion page.

To place the template within a university Biki entry, you must paste this code at the very beginning of the article, replacing the guide entries with those specific to your university:

{{Infobox University|
name=            Official name|
image=           [[image:youruni-logo.png|University Name]]|
motto=           University motto|
established=     Year of establishment|
type=            Public, Private|
chancellor=      Full name of chancellor|
vice_chancellor= Full name of vice chancellor|
city=            Uni's city|

postgrad=        # of postgraduate students|
faculty=         # of staff members|
homepage=        [http://www.youruni.edu.au University webpage]|
}}

When data is properly entered, the template will produce this:
