2007 Human rights issue assessment task - ours took the format of a speech. I got 100% for this assessment task, and also scored a final HSC mark of 97 - which equated to 5th in the State for my graduating class. The issue is Police Brutality in the United States. It is particularly useful in analysing the effectiveness of the law in the USA. By nature, a speech equals an effective summary of the major issues..so this is perfect for exam prep! :D I hope you find it useful! I will also upload the full report that I compiled before I turned it into a speech (in case you wanted more depth) John T

2007 This is a report prepared on a current criminal justice issue in the Australian legal system - the issue I chose to address was juvenile offenders and there treatment through the stages of criminal justice. The report highlights important statistics about youthful offenders, as well as mapping out potential reform and other effectiveness issues. It critically analyses why youthful offenders are treated differently then other offenders in their contact with the system. I got 100% for this assignment. I also ranked 5th in the state for legal studies in my graduating class, which was a final mark of 97. I hope you find this report useful in preparing for your exam. (P.S. apologies in advanced for the poorly constructed bibliography...since starting at uni, I have learnt how to properly reference...and this assignment could have done a better job at that!) 2007 This is an essay for the Consumer module that I wrote. It was an assessment task that was a pretty open ended question..I focused on a discussion of how the law protects consumers via a critical analysis of the mechanisms that have been put in place by the State to do just that. It analyses the effectiveness of such mechanisms using the syllabus dot points on the 'effectiveness of law'. I got 100% for this essay, and came 5th in the State for HSC Legal Studies in my graduating class...with a final mark of 97. I hope you find this essay useful. Please also take a look at my consumer notes as I have addressed even more issues that you can use in your exams there. Enjoy! And don't plagiarise! John T

2007 These notes start from the Legal Issues and Remedies section of the syllabus. The notes map out the syllabus dot points in structure. The notes include all relevant legislation, case law etc (which are conveniently highlighted via a key, introduced at the beginning of the notes). The final section of the notes, titled 'Issues to present in essays' gives paragraphs that can directly be applied to the HSC examination for this module. It includes summaries of the effectiveness of the law and draws on cases, newspaper articles and legislation in presenting the issues. I came 5th in the state for HSC Legal Studies (final mark was 97) for my graduating year, and I do hope you will find these notes useful. Oh and just to add some further credit to the notes, i'm currently doing Com/Law at USYD :D yes, my notes are perfect notes..and if used properly will get you an awesome mark in the HSC (because markers LOVE a critique of the law and an awareness of current issues..and my notes spell that out for you) John T

2007 These notes address the entire syllabus for the Family module in the HSC Legal Studies course. They follow the structure of the dot points for this module. Oh and just to add some further credit to the notes, i'm currently doing Com/Law at USYD :D yes, my notes are perfect notes..and if used properly will get you an awesome mark in the HSC (because markers LOVE a critique of the law and an awareness of current issues..and my notes spell that out for you). And these notes also address the key questions that form part of the syllabus! John T
