Welcome to SAM - the Student Assessment Modeller™!
The goal of SAM is to provide you with all of the information you need to know about
your VCE scores and studies. SAM constructs detailed results 'profiles', tailoring
them to your individual student needs.
ENTER Data
In a similar manner to its predecessors, SAM allows you to accurately estimate what
your ENTER would have been had you sat the VCE in a previous year. SAM also takes this
process one step further, providing a comprehensive report of how your study scores would have been
scaled and how each study would have contributed to your ENTER.
Profiles
In addition to calculating ENTERs, SAM provides complete statistical breakdowns of all
the relevant data for your studies. The various graphs and charts convert confusing
numbers into visual information that can be easily interpreted at a glance.
Scaling Profile
This profile provides a visual aid exhibiting how a course was scaled by the Victorian
Tertiary Admissions Centre in a given year. For almost all courses, SAM is able to use the
official scaling procedures to demonstrate how your scores would have been transformed
before being put towards your ENTER. And to accomodate the statistically-inclined, the
profile also includes relevant data from VTAC's annual scaling reports.
FAQ
The Bored Team are also in the process of developing an evolving knowledgebase for SAM,
providing answers to all of the pertinent questions, and at the same time explaining
nearly all of the procedures that are applied to your scores.
